This classification is viewed as the title for the addiction professional primarily involved in providing direct services to individuals in the criminal justice system. This is an international credential that is recognized throughout the world via reciprocity.
Two years (4,000 hours) out of the last 7 years of paid, supervised
employment providing direct substance abuse related services to individuals
involved in the criminal justice system with a bachelor's degree or
higher in a human service related field. Three years (6,000 hours) of
employment is required if the degree is non-human service related.
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
150 hours of education related to the knowledge and skills necessary
to perform the tasks within the CCJP domains including 6 in addiction
confidentiality, 6 in professional ethics and responsibilities and 6
in communicable diseases.
100 hours of supervision obtained during employment.
Sign and abide by Code of Ethical Conduct.
Must live or work in PA at time of application.
Pass a written exam.
Submission of application, all documentation, and fee.
CCJP is a 2 year credential and must be recertified.
