Co-Occurring Therapist 
Location: Pittsburgh/Allegheny County
Under the direction of the Assertive Treatment Team (ACT) Director this position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing co-occurring and recovery based therapy services for consumers and offering clinical insight to staff. This position will also assist the Team Leader with productivity, billing, supervision of the team, and on-call responsibilities. Core responsibilities will include providing clinical and behavioral assessments, on-going therapy, either group or individual, supportive counseling, case management, and concrete service utilizing a flex schedule and will include on-call responsibilities.

General Responsibilities:

1.   Demonstrate a Rehabilitation/Recovery value system towards service delivery by providing consumer-driven strength based approach to service.

2.   Assure that MD orders for therapy are met.

3.   Coordinate with primary case managers to gather social history, understand consumer’s past and present life situations, and utilize that information to assist the primary case manager to develop a social history and yearly update for the consumers on their primary case load.

4.   Complete a clinical summary for each consumer on a monthly basis, or as clinically necessary during morning meeting.

5.   Provide individual, group, and family therapy to consumers and their family when appropriate.

6.   Provide co-occurring counseling through individual, group and family therapy as necessary.

7.   Educate and train staff, family members, and community providers in treating individuals with co-occurring drug and alcohol and serious and persistent mental illness.

8.   Acting in the therapist role, coordinate and drive necessary services both internal within the team and external service providers.

Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other human service related fields. 
Candidates must also have experience with co-occurring issues and 1-2 years of mental health direct care experience along with knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system.
Candidates must have one of the following: a CADC or CCDP with a Master’s degree, CAADC,  or CCDP Diplomate.
