Computer
Based Testing Only Option Beginning in September
Computer based
testing will be the only means of testing for PCBs international
reciprocal credentials beginning with the September
administration. These exams include the CAC, CAC Diplomate,
CCS, CCDP, CCJP, and CPS. PCBs remaining credentials (CAAP,
CRS, and CCSM) will continue as paper and pencil exams.
Two of the
major benefits of taking the written exam on computer are: 1)
the candidate will have a two week period of time in which to
schedule his/her exam and 2) preliminary test results will be
provided to the candidate within minutes of completing the exam.
Currently,
there are four computer based testing sites in Pennsylvania –
one in the Harrisburg area, one in Philadelphia, and two in
Pittsburgh.
All upcoming
candidates will be sent information on computer based testing,
including how to schedule, exact location of testing sites,
deadline for scheduling, arrival time, etc.
PCB’s other written examinations (case manager,
recovery specialist, allied addiction practitioner) will continue to
only be available as paper/pencil exams on an as needed basis.
