This ethics training is designed to look at two specific areas of current ethical issues: Professional Sexual Misconduct (PSM) between healthcare providers and their patients/clients; and the impact of the #MeToo movement on ethics and practice. It will examine and discuss risk factors in providers engaging in PSM and look at supervision issues to help in prevention. It will also explore the recent rise of the #MeToo movement and its impact on ethics and practice in healthcare and industry. This is an interactive training that will focus on information dissemination and current ethical issue discussion and debate. Because of the sensitive and potentially volatile nature of the subject matter, it is emphasized that civility, collegiality, professionalism and respect will be expected and maintained at all times during the training. The presenter reserves the right to end discussions and discharge participants who fail to maintain these boundaries. Objectives: By attending this training, participants will be able to: 1. Distinguish between boundary crossings and boundary violations 2. Define Professional Sexual Misconduct 3. Identify at least three typical contributing factors for PSM 4. State the basic history of the #MeToo movement 5. Identify, define and discuss consent 6. Identify at least two major areas of impact the #MeToo movement has made in industry since 2018
