Responsibilities

The person in this position will be responsible for providing integrated treatment supporting the needs of both behavioral and physical health care to clients admitted to Berks Counseling Center. This would include clinical treatment modalities and supporting documentation.

To maintain the fidelity of the ACT model with its multi-disciplinary approach, incorporation of both a behavioral health counselor and a co-occurring behavioral health counselor are each critical positions to the success of the team. Additional department/program specific qualifications, knowledge and essential job functions are noted below to spotlight or further define one or both behavioral health counselor positions.

Full-time clinicians are Exempt and are paid a flat salary amount. Full-time clinician schedules are 30 or more hours per week.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree plus at least one (1) year experience with substance abuse/co-occurring treatment required. Experience with and working knowledge of severe and persistent mental illness required. Knowledge of the ACT model with a willingness to promote and respect the philosophy of the ACT model required. Must have a valid PA Driver’s License and the ability to drive, travel, and provide community-oriented services required.
Note – under the ACT program, a CADC is required for Co-Occurring Specialist equivalent.

LCSW or LPC applicants with counseling experience in drug, alcohol and mental health preferred. CAC a plus. Bi-lingual: English/Spanish a plus. Knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed approaches preferred.
