General Summary
The person in this position will be responsible for providing integrated treatment supporting the needs of both behavioral and physical health care to child and adolescent individuals (age 5 – 17 years) admitted to BCC. This would include clinical treatment modalities and supporting documentation.
Full-time clinicians are Exempt and are paid a flat salary amount. Full-time clinician schedules are 30 or more hours per week.
Essential Job Functions
1. Provide community outreach and networking related to child and adolescent/clinical services.
2. Provide screening, assessment, and evaluation of potential clients.
3. Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling.
4. Effectively assess client treatment needs and develop a comprehensive individualized integrated treatment plan.
5. Complete clinical documentation that meets compliance standards, medical necessity guidelines, and agency standards as to timeliness and accuracy of documentation.
6. Maintain weekly direct services hours as designated by supervisor.
7. Actively participate in individual supervision and clinical team meetings.
8. Work cooperatively with the psychiatrist in meeting the medication management needs of clients.
9. Attend staff meetings and community meetings/committees as assigned.
10. Provide community outreach and networking related to clinical services.
11. Maintain appropriate credentials and attend ongoing training and education as required by licensure, certification and/or agency policy.
12. Maintain accurate, up to date clinical documentation in the client record.
13. Prepare reports as required.
14. Work closely with other treatment staff, case managers and other outside persons involved in a client’s care to assure effective coordination of care, including the promotion of health and wellness.
15. Meet all insurance and funding source requirements.
16. Provide crisis coverage as needed.
17. Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related social service field required
At least two (2) years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families.
LCSW or LPC applicants with counseling experience in drug, alcohol and mental health preferred.
CAC a plus.
Bi-lingual: English/Spanish a plus.
Experience with both Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol fields, and be able to perform assessments.
All offers of employment are contingent upon the following: 1) Receipt of results of a satisfactory drug and alcohol screening test. 2) Receipt of the originals of the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal History, PA State Child Abuse, and DPW FBI Criminal History. These clearances must be valid within the 12 months prior to employment. A conviction is not a bar to employment, however a review will be conducted to make a determination of employment should a conviction be present. 3) Receipt of original documentation and verification of relevant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or licensure. 4) Confirmation that you are not on the OIG Federal Healthcare Program Exclusion from Participation list. Should you appear on this list, Berks Counseling Center is prohibited from employing you.
