Behavioral Health Therapist

This position is for a Behavioral Health Therapist working with patients in Caron's Men's Continuum and will require relative experience.  The Therapist is to provide all the basic counseling and case management services required by patients during their treatment experience. The Therapist is expected to carry out the philosophy of the Caron Treatment Centers in his/her daily work routine and to act as a catalyst in the therapeutic process of the patient’s treatment episode.

Hours are M-F with some evening coverage and one weekend per month.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Overall coordination of a patient’s care while in residential services, including the integration of family sessions, school expectations, communication with referral sources, assessment of patient progress and communication to the clinical team regarding special treatment needs and procedures. 
Completion of initial patient assessments such as psychosocial assessment, gathering patient goals and completing family assessments.  
Utilize multi-disciplinary treatment team to determine appropriate level of care and identify behavioral health needs can be treated in Caron’s continuum and those that require external placement.
Facilitate group therapy and individual counseling.
Work with Family Therapist to assess family dynamics, recommend the family education program and ongoing family therapy. Develop comprehensive continuing care plan that includes input from the clinical referents, internal referents, multi-disciplinary treatment teams, family and patient.   
Work within the ethical constraints of the certified addiction counselor and other professional or organizational ethical standards as they apply to the position.
Document treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plan updates, case consultations, telephone calls and discharge summaries in the patient records in accordance to Caron policies and procedures.
Complete necessary utilization review information.

Must be able to work extended hours and travel as needed.
Must be able to deliver presentations that may be both multiple times and for lengthy time periods.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications

 Education/Experience:

Master’s Degree in Human Services required. Licensure preferred
Specialty training preferred (MI, DBT, Art Therapy, MBSR, CPT, CBT)
Experience in lifespan developmental issues for their respective populations
Extensive experience in facilitating group therapy
If recovering two years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred
Must comply with ACT 33 of Pennsylvania law
