Purpose: To assist clinical team, Admissions Department and the Detox Unit with patient behavior, management and supervision. Will provide patient population with education, maintain a safe community and provide consistent follow through with patients.
Starting rate $15.00 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential. $2.00 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift. $1.00 per hour incentive for Teen and Young Adult Units.

Responsibilities

Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge process for the patient.
Meet with families upon admission to facilitate orientation and conduct facility tours.
Administer luggage checks, transfer luggage weighing up to 50 lbs., manage patient belongings and orient patients to new community.
When possible, administer luggage checks before patient’s family leaves and send home any contraband
Organize patient movement.
Transport and accompany patients to off-campus activities including but not limited to 12-step meetings, medical appointments, and recreational activities.
Ensure patient attendance at all scheduled activities.
Accompany patient to meals, activities, and outside appointments.
Assist with guest speakers and in-house 12 step meetings.
Monitor and direct patients during emergency evacuations.
With close supervision of a clinical and/or administrative staff member, assist the clinical team, Admissions Department, and the Detox Unit with behavioral issues within the unit including monitoring and assessing patient behaviors (eating disorders, psychiatric disorders, aggressive and self-injurious behaviors).
Assist with runaway/Against Medical Advice/Against Staff Advice protocol.
Maintain communications/contact with clinical staff regarding patient issues.
Document patient behavior in electronic medical chart.
De-escalate patients.
Perform daily room checks and period room searches.
Observe patients on a one to one basis, as needed.
Follow protocol for patients returning from off-site passes, including but not limited to: Observe urine Drug screenings, breathalyzers, complete on-person search and luggage search.
Present educational lectures with clinically approved material.
Follow Medical Unit sleep protocols for patients.
Responsible for the presentation of the facility.
Monitor patients to ensure the facility maintains a neat and safe environment.
Work with patients to ensure patient areas are kept clean and presentable.

 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to walk and actively participate in activities throughout campus.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time as needed.
Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van, car, or car to and from various activities.
Must be able to work overtime/extended hours, holidays and during periods of inclement weather as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Requires proficient computer skills.
Requires a basic understanding of chemical dependency and 12-step philosophy.
21 years of age or older is required.
Requires a current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license along with 5 years driving history.
Experience working with respective population is preferred.
If in recovery, two years of continuous sobriety is preferred.
