Responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Primary Counselor is responsible for a high risk case load of high risk pregnant and/or parenting women who are engaged in residential drug treatment that included programming for drug-free and methadone maintained clients. The Primary Counselor will be the primary coordinator of clinical services for her caseload and will also fulfill necessary data-gathering and other written requirements for the program.

Qualifications

A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in social work, chemical dependency, psychology, counseling, or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

LSW, LPC, CAC preferred.

One year experience in treatment of addiction is preferred.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, Act 73, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
