What We Need:
To facilitate and accelerate the aggressive growth that RCA is experiencing we are seeking a Director of Nursing that will assume authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. The DON collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations – including government agencies and advocacy groups – to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related administrative functions, as well as to represent the interests of the facility.

What You’ll Do:
• Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies, while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Participates in admission decisions, and may evaluate prospective patients before admission.
• Reviews 24-hour report from every unit daily to monitor and ensure timely and effective responses to significant changes in patient condition, transfers, discharges, use of restraints, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, and medication errors.
• Coordinates nursing services with all other departments.
• Oversees nursing schedules to assure they meet patient needs and regulatory and budgetary standards.
• Monitors staff for compliance with OSHA mandates and facility policies on work place safety. Proactively develops procedures and incentives to promote accident prevention procedures, general workplace safety and safe work practices with the goal of preventing employee injury and illness and controlling worker’s compensation costs.

What You’ll Need:
• Nursing Degree, BSN preferred and State Registered Nursing license
• Five years of professional experience in substance use disorder setting required and a minimum of three years’ experience in nursing administration or a comparable management position.
• Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, as well as other co-occurring disorder management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a substance use disorder treatment setting.
