What We Need:
To facilitate and accelerate the aggressive growth that RCA is experiencing we are seeking Primary Therapists that will oversee patient care for identified case load, including biopsychosocial assessment, working with collateral contacts, group and individual therapy, coordination of treatment with the multidisciplinary team, treatment planning, case management/discharge planning and referral to ensure the patient enjoys a cohesive treatment experience.

What You’ll Do:
* Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, as well as education and skills training.
* Obtain history and presenting information as delineated in program policy.
* Collaboratively develop and update an individualized treatment plan with the patient that includes a targeted discharge date and plan.
* Define all relevant community resources affecting care and treatment of the patient (e.g. attorney, family, case manager, etc.). Develop and follow contact plans and conjoint therapy plans.
* Update referring sources and family members on patient progress, if approved by the patient.
* Utilize agency-endorsed patient-centered therapeutic interventions and rapport-building practices, including motivational interviewing techniques, to non-confrontationally enhance consumer insight regarding diagnoses and usage patterns.
* Document treatment episodes, contacts, treatment plans and sessions according to content and frequency requirements.
* Maintain appointed caseload of actively engaged patients.
* Coordinate comprehensive discharge plan to ensure seamless community reintegration.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:
* Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselors by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists;
* Approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or
* Licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment. Approved licenses include the following:
o Licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC);
o Licensed graduate alcohol and drug counselor (LGADC);
o Certified associate counselor — alcohol and drug (CAC—AD); or
o Certified supervised counselor — alcohol and drug (CSC—AD);
* At least 2 years of experience in a behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings serving culturally diverse populations.
* Proven ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.
* Demonstrates understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.
* Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
* Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.
* Demonstrates knowledge of case management for dual diagnosis patients.
