Lead development of clinical procedures in collaboration with leadership team and consultants of to be developed outpatient program, for persons with substance use and/or mental health disorders. Provide clinical supervision of the program staff upon its opening.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Director, consultants, program Psychiatrist and PHMC Behavioral Health Services Clinical Director to coordinate with comprehensive clinical protocols for Medication Assisted Treatment and other evidence-based services.
• Work with consultants as needed to establish staff training schedule for manualized evidence- based practices; attend training.
• Ensure that all staff are oriented to treatment models over time.
• Establish training schedule for implementation of use of ASAM Software to conduct Comprehensive Bio-psychosocial Evaluation; attend training.
• Supervise clinical implementation of ASAM/ Comprehensive Bio-psychosocial evaluation.
• Coordinate program planning, delivery of treatment services and other related activities based on philosophy, goals and objectives of the program.
• Establish and maintain schedules for daily therapeutic activities.
• Convene and lead weekly treatment team meetings.
• Provide supervision to Counselors, Case Managers, Admissions Coordinator/ Outreach Team Leader, Psychiatrist, and Nurse.
• Attend daily staff and community meetings and inform staff of any important participant data.
• Ensure that direct care clinical staff implement recovery process protocols for participants as defined by Pathways for Recovery program goals and philosophy.
• Ensure fidelity to evidence-based practices.
• Ensure that Peer Recovery Specialists receive up-to-date written information concerning the physical and emotional status of each resident, as needed.
• Supervise provision of continuity of care by treatment team and as defined by treatment plan.
• Ensure that initial treatment plans are established for all participants within 3 days
• of admission and revised Integrated Recovery Plan is established within 10-15 days of program entry and that treatment plans are updated every 3-4 weeks.
• Monitor and ensure that all efforts are made to assist participants in meeting treatment plan milestones and moving to the next appropriate level of care upon completion of partial hospitalization treatment.
• Oversee completion of all clinical records as required by the funder and according to the program procedure manual.
• Coordinate/collaborate with off-site, community-based mental health and substance use treatment providers.
• Alert Program Director to any current or potential behavioral problems of participants.
• Serve as back-up counselor in the event of staff absences.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 6-8 years related experience supervising professionals and in direct work with persons with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
• Clinical Licensure in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapy.
• Certification as an Addictions Counselor and Addictions Clinical Supervisor
• Competence in individual, group therapy and family intervention.
• Experience in individual and group clinical supervision, with an emphasis on clinical work with persons with co-occurring disorders.
• Thorough knowledge of polydrug use and treatment modalities, especially opiates, crack cocaine, mental health issues and the recovery process.
• Ability to use therapeutic skills essential to assisting participants in process of recovery.
• Ability to serve as a role model to participants.
