What We Need:
To facilitate and accelerate the aggressive growth that RCA is experiencing, we are seeking Recovery Support Specialists that can participate in the delivery of individual patient care.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:
• Monitor patients; provide security checks throughout shift; complete documentation to include but not limited to log book and level cards; monitor patient’s activities and record patient behavior.
• Assist in telephone intakes.
• Assist LPN, RN, and Life Skills Counselors.
• Maintain a safe, neat and clean environment to facilitate patient safety.
• Participate in direct patient care including ensuring patient safety, interacting therapeutically.
• Assist in activities of daily living transports; assist with physical de-escalation and the monitoring of patients.
• Document significant interactions, as appropriate, in the electronic medical record.
• Respond to crises as needed.
• Organize and conduct room inspections as directed by the Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor(s) and Coordinator(s).
• Understand the principles of 12-Step programs and how they apply to the recovery process of the addicted client.
• Able to aid and instruct clients in facilitation and presentation of the toolkits, seminars and 12-Step self-help recovery groups.
• Serve as liaison with 12-Step volunteers who visit the facility to provide fellowship meetings.
• Able to be flexible to meet patient and staff needs.
• Assist with family visits.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working with addiction services.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Some familiarity with behavior modification or 12-Step modality. Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
• Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.
