Employment Status: Per diem / temporary

Hours: For a 36-week period (up to 600 hours through August 15, 2018)

Compass Mark is a non-profit organization that provides addiction prevention and intervention services in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. These skill-building, evidence-based programs assist youth and adults to
achieve healthy lifestyles.

The Youth Program Support Intern assists with the operation and facilitation of after-school and summer programming within Lancaster County. This position will have duties primarily in the afternoon and evenings.
Will participate in the preparation and facilitation of a week-long experiential camp in June as well as a career exploration day-camp in July. Transportation of students to the program will be a regular duty. Will support
the Future Generations Coordinator with facilitating core program activities including mentoring, tutoring, goal achievement and career exploration. May also facilitate evidence-based prevention curriculum that builds
student resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite program assistance to the Program Coordinator; Assist with regular activities and special program events as directed by the Program Coordinator; Support the implementation of curriculum materials as directed.
• Assist in providing a safe, pro-social experience for students while modeling the same at all times
• Work with program students to set and achieve goals within their Individual Success Plans
• Transport students after school to the site location of the Future Generations program
• Kids Kamp (June 2018)
o Assist in pre-Kamp planning and administration
o Provide daily onsite support to ensure student safety and engagement during camp outings
• Connections Camp (July/August 2018)
o Support the Coordinator with pre-program site and activity planning
o Assist with program implementation and post-program follow up as directed
o Provide daily onsite support to ensure student safety and engagement during camp outings

Qualifications

Education:
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and expected to graduate by June 22, 2017. Programs of study suitable for this paid internship include Social Work, Psychology or Education.
Experience:
Must have at least one year of experience working directly with children or youth in an educational, human service, or community-based setting. Youth program implementation experience is preferred.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in Spanish is a plus. Must have a working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
