The PAC-MAT Recovery Specialist (RS) will contribute in a peer support capacity to facilitate recovery and enhance wellness. The RS will serve as a role model for recovery for both staff and participants, and will partner with participants in developing recovery tools and building support networks.

Qualifications

– Minimum Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
– Pref. Education: AA degree as Medical Assistant or related health field
– Recovery: Minimum of two (2) years uninterrupted recovery. Recovering individuals must be actively involved with a recovery program(12-Step, Faith Based, Smart Recovery, etc), attending meetings weekly, working with a sponsor or mentor, demonstrating levels of improved balance in their lives, ability to establish healthy boundaries, serenity, etc.
– Minimum Experience: A self -identified person in recovery with 12 months of paid or volunteer experience within a three year period. One year’s experience in navigating the recovery system (i.e. crisis services, vocational rehabilitation, recreational activities, and human services, etc.) A history of coping with own substance use disorder issues and maintenance of own recovery with a minimum of two years uninterrupted recovery.
– Req. Cert./Registration: Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) Certification one year post-hire
– Skills: Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills; basic computer skills including email, Word, and internet; knowledge of and ability in the care and support of individuals in a specific age group, ability to keep electronic records
– Requires a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence
