Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute - Advancements in Recovery Program

This position provides substance use disorder counseling in Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute’s new Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). The Certified Addictions Counselor I position is part of an interdisciplinary team that is focused on helping improve the health and well-being of individuals struggling with Opioid-Use Disorder. Interventions will include crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short-term counseling, group psychotherapy, and appropriate internal/external referrals.


• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.
• Certified as an Addictions Counselor with the Pennsylvania Certification Board, International Consortium of Reciprocal Counseling, or another state government's substance abuse counseling certification board.
• Experience working in a medical setting preferred but not required.
• Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientation, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status.
• If in recovery from a substance use disorder must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
• Basic computer skills required.
