This position is to provide substance abuse counseling in Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute’s new Opiate Treatment Program. The Certified Addictions Counselor II position is part of an interdisciplinary team that is focused on helping improve the health and well-being of individuals struggling with Opioid-Use Disorder. Interventions will include crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short-term counseling, group psychotherapy, and appropriate internal/external referrals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
• Certified as an Addictions Counselor with the Pennsylvania Certification Board, International Consortium of Reciprocal Counseling, or another state government’s substance abuse counseling certification board.
• Licensed preferred but not required: LPC, LMFT, LSW,LCSW
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with Substance Use Disorders.
• Experience working in a medical setting preferred but not required
• Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientation, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status.
• If in recovery from a substance use disorder must be in recovery for a minimum of 2 years.
• Basic computer skills required.
