This position is to provide substance abuse counseling. Participates in the interdisciplinary team to help improve the health and well-being of the patient’s with Opioid-Use Disorder and promote team functioning. Interventions will include crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short-term counseling, group psychotherapy, and appropriate internal/external referrals. A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. An Associate Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientation, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status. If in recovery from a substance use disorder must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
