The Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) is an instrumental member of a multidisciplinary team working to address the disease of addiction within the Geisinger Medication Assisted Treatment Program and related addition treatment programs. The CRS will work within the community, providing outreach to patients with complex addiction, behavioral and psychosocial needs. The CRS acts as a resource to assist patients in navigating the health care system, and motivating them to engage and sustain engagement with the behavioral and addiction treatment system. Under the direction of psychiatry and addiction medicine leadership, the CRS will support patients, as a peer, along the road to recovery from acute addiction.

Demonstrated ability to complete projects within designated timelines and the ability to prioritize duties is required
Demonstrates ability to use basic office equipment, computer, fax machine, copier, calculator, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Varies settings including but not limited to office, patients home, and hospital.
Travel required, personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement
Day shift with some evening hours required

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required.
Minimum of 2 year's continuous recovery required
Three years of experience in community based outreach or demonstrated progressive advancement in responsibilities in healthcare setting such as clinic, hospital, etc. preferred.
Valid PA Driver's License required
Current CRS licensure, or eligibility to qualify and take the CRS educational course
