Pyramid Healthcare's Recovery Support Services Division is seeking Certified Recovery Specialists. Certified Recovery Specialists' role is to support others in recovery from substance use disorder. The Recovery Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Pyramid Healthcare does offer Center of Excellence Services (specific to Opioid Use Disorder) and traditional Certified Recovery Specialist services.

We are currently seeking candidates for 2 full-time Community Wellness & Youth Training Specialist opportunities with our Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) at Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS). The incumbents will also support Stand Together, a behavioral health anti-stigma initiative that trains, equips, and inspires middle and high school students to act against stigma directed at their peers.

Crossroads Counseling, Inc. has an opening for a Certified Recovery Specialist in Williamsport, Lock Haven, and Sunbury. Qualified applicants will have completed the Certified Recovery Specialist training, and either be certified by the PCB or eligible and willing to attend the required CRS trainings and become certified. This position does require the applicant to have a history of drug or alcohol and to have at least 18 months of sobriety.

Your Job as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:

Peer specialists provide supportive relationships with adults and/or transition-aged youth ages 14-17 in their recovery journey with mental health and substance use challenges. Peer Specialists meet with peers in the community and assist with a variety of needs including coping skills, relationship building, assisting with self-advocacy, and assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plan’s that are person centered.

The Certified Recovery Specialist provides on-going recovery support/coaching to high-risk patients struggling with substance use disorders. The Certified Recovery Specialist assists patients with developing their own system of natural supports. The key to the Certified Recovery Specialist’s work is forming healthy growth-producing relationships by sharing their lived experience with addiction and success in overcoming barriers and engaging and motivating patients to responsible action. This position requires nontraditional hours to meet client’s needs.
