Job Summary Statement:
Every CRS will gain the ability to assist getting individuals/Veterans into treatment if necessary. The ability to mentor individuals into successful recovery while teaching life skills. A CRS will be able to advocate for individuals/Veterans and the recovery community. A CRS will maintain confidentiality requirements and ethical standards with participants, family members, etc. The CRS will follow all guidelines provided by CRS Certification standard and state drug and alcohol confidentiality laws. Each program within JFT utilizes CRS roles differently, the CRSs should be able to be versatile and knowledge able to support the other CRS roles if needed. They will also have the ability to make solid connections with treatment facilities, other providers, and outside organizations, etc., to create a positive experience for individuals in need. The programs are R&R, Veterans, and Warm Hand-off.
Job Duties:
1. The CRS will report directly to their perspective coordinator.
2. Possess the ability to gain resources of treatment facilities, Recovery meetings (Pathway of individual choice), Mental health/ medical requirement needs (Appointments, insurance, food stamps, government documents such as ID, DL, SS Card), employment needs, and resource availabilities within the community.
3. Support individuals into in-patient treatment when required. (See #2)
4. Support individuals into out-patient treatment facilities or IOP programs when required.
5. Complete all required paperwork for each program in a timely manner (R&R, Veteran, and Warm Hand-off) Proper documentation with DAP formation.
6. Follow up with individuals per each program requirements. Warm Hand-off- 1, 3,6,12 months f/u, R&R- 12-month program protocols.
7. Guide individuals through mentoring on life skills, employment, budgeting, housing, recovery, etc.
8. Advocate for individuals to help them support their recovery. (PO, treatment facilities, housing, VA benefits etc.)
9. Help individual build a healthy support group within their lives. (Family, sponsor, meetings, events)
10. Uphold the CRS Code of Ethics and maintain appropriate confidentiality and boundaries.
11. Answer calls and report to designated locations as required in a timely manner (Warm Hand-off)
12. Report to coordinator as directed per program.
13. Support JFT operations though additional tasks and requirements for each program.
1. High School Diploma/ GED
2. Recovery Specialist Certification
3. 2 + years in Recovery
4. Family (friends, family, experience) of addiction
5. Valid PA Drivers license and transportation.
