PPI is currently seeking a Counselor to join our Opioid Treatment Program in Harrisburg, PA. $2,500 sign on bonus for full time positions with a 2 year commitment.

Hours: Full-time, Day shift; 530am-2pm, 6am-230pm, with 1x/month half-day Saturday shift, with additional hourly compensation for weekend hours worked.

Responsibilities

As a member of our Opioid Treatment Team, the Counselor participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, coordinating care with our medical and nursing teams, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our patients. The Counselor provides individual, family and group counseling, conducts assessments, collaboratively creates treatment plans and goals, and coordinates appropriate referrals to other departments and community agencies for patients.

Qualifications

Counselor Assistant: A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a related human service field or a bachelor’s degree in a related human service field.

Counselor Level I: Associate Degree with 2 years counseling experience OR Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

Certified Counselor/ Level II: Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field AND a Certification in Addiction Counseling Certified Addictions Counselor with the Pennsylvania Certification Board, International Consortium of Reciprocal Counseling, or another state government’s substance abuse counseling certification board.

• If in recovery from a substance use disorder must be in recovery for a minimum of two years
