Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Program Specialist to provide oversight for the BCDAC, Inc. Warm Handoff program and to serve as liaison with provider agencies and hospitals, healthcare facilities and community agencies. The Drug and Alcohol Program Specialist is also responsible for establishing program benchmarks and measuring program impact.

The Drug and Alcohol Program Specialist is responsible for:

Warm Handoff Program
• Track data for program and submit reports/conduct meetings with various stakeholders per established timeframes.
• Ensure that the Warm Handoff program is staffed appropriately and that services are delivered per terms of provider contracts.
• Encourage use of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with hospitals/providers to include induction and maintenance of Buprenorphine, following established
protocols.
• Continue to encourage hospital provision of Narcan to individuals and families and track distribution.
• Continue to work with providers to educate hospital staff on the Warm Handoff program, effectiveness of MAT, harm reduction practices and other substance
use-related topics.
• Build and maintain relationships with County police departments and emergency medical services/rescue squads engaged in programs to serve individuals with
SUD
• Expand drug checking (fentanyl and xylazine test strips) within agencies, community-based organizations, law enforcement, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or other related field;
• Three (3) or more years of clinical experience in a health or human services agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting or with individuals using substances;
• Demonstrated success as a project manager; able to successfully manage multiple projects;
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule;
• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize assignments;
• Effective oral and written communication skills;
• Excellent decision-making ability.
