Keystone Mental Health Services is currently seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our team in providing individualized, person-directed support in the area of mental health. Our work focuses on inclusion and building communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and fully participate in everything society has to offer.
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide peer support services and act as an advocate for individuals living with mental illness across emergency, outpatient and inpatient settings.

Assist individuals in identifying personal recovery goals and developing meaningful objectives to support their wellness journey
Support individuals in creating, updating, and implementing their Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
Teach and role model effective coping strategies, self-help techniques, and recovery-oriented skills
Guide and empower individuals to facilitate Recovery Dialogues, fostering shared learning and peer connection
Encourage and assist individuals in building and maintaining healthy support networks, including peer groups and community-based systems
Notify management or supervisors of any incidents affecting the health, safety, or welfare of individuals in the program, as well as any unusual or unsafe conditions, within required timeframes
Complete all required documentation accurately and within deadlines
Provide transportation to residents as needed and in accordance with program guidelines
Maintain active Peer Support Certification and participate in ongoing training to uphold competency in the peer role
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in Peer Support
Effective communication and basic computer skills
Valid driver’s license with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including clearances and verifications
