In our Student Assistance and Drug and Alcohol Prevention programs, we provide valuable and dynamic resources to decrease the risk of mental health and substance abuse issues within schools and community.

As an SAP/Prevention Liaison, you will work remotely in the schools and the communities within Allegheny County to provide education, screening, and referrals to decrease the risk of mental health and substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities

Performs duties of core team consultation, prescreening interviews, and parental follow-up.
Provides linkage and referrals to appropriate mental health, drug & alcohol, educational, or other community services.
Conducts prescreening interviews utilizing the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS)
Provides ongoing feedback to SAP core team and appropriate school staff.
Facilitates groups within the schools as well as in the community as needed utilizing evidence-based curriculums.
Provides mental health and substance abuse education at health fairs, open houses and other community events as assigned by supervisor.
Assists with crisis postvention services in the schools and community

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, drug and alcohol addiction or education AND 2 years or more experience in the behavioral health field.   
Excellent communication and computer skills.
Current valid PA Class I driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle required.
Act 33 and 34 clearances, Department of Education Fingerprints and Department of Public Welfare Fingerprints both required.
