The Certified Recovery Specialist will be a co-responder in assisting law enforcement with triage and begin the process of linking individuals identified or suspected of having a substance use disorder to the appropriate level of treatment and services, and ensuring a warm handoff to treatment. The co-responder services are intended to extend and enhance the drug and alcohol treatment continuum by helping individuals to gain access to needed resources in the community and by assisting them to overcome barriers and helping them to bridge gaps between their needs and timely referrals to treatment.
