The Research and Evaluation Group at Public Health Management Corporation (R&E Group) is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist to join its team. R&E Group is conducting a large-scale study to test different psychosocial/counseling approaches to treat individuals receiving medication for opioid use disorders in primary care settings. The Peer Recovery Specialist will be responsible for delivering peer support services to study participants according to an established study protocol.
The Peer Recovery Specialist will work in a Philadelphia-based federally qualified heath center and will report to a Senior Research Scientist. Ongoing reflective supervision will be provided by the study’s Clinical Supervisor. Duties will include providing peer support services to study participants, coordinating service provision activities with on-site Research Assistant and members of the care team, and engaging in ongoing training and fidelity monitoring. * Engage participants by sharing personal story of recovery
* Provide recovery education and support services to patients in a manner that adheres to the research protocol
* Assist in the development and enhancement of an individual’s comprehensive individualized recovery plan
* Assist the individual to identify and prioritize strengths and needs
* Actively identify and support linkages to community resources that support the recovering person’s goals and interests. This will involve a collaborative effort including the recovering person, agency staff and other relevant stakeholders.
* Travel into community to meet with participants and help access recovery-oriented resources
* Maintain project logs, reports, and accurate records in appropriate files and database(s) including the electronic health record, adhering to program and research standards
* Maintain confidentiality regarding information received during the facilitation of recovery support services
* Participate in ongoing training and monitoring provided by research team

* Have a valid driver’s license in good standing
* In record with at least 2 years sustained, current recovery history
* Ability to follow structured research protocol
* Readiness to solve problems, learn new skills, and proactively seek assistance when needed
* Strong interpersonal, record-keeping, organizational, and time management skills
* Ability to follow a research protocol and work closely with a research team (including Research Scientists, Senior Project Managers, and Research Assistants)
Experience:
* At last 1 year of experience working in the behavioral health field
Education Requirement:
* Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS)
* High School Diploma or GED
Salary:
* Commensurate based on education and experience.
* Grade 13
