POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Certified Peer Specialist for Clarion County
Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Certified Peer Support Supervisor
Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Certified Peer Support Supervisor, this person will increase access to peer support services for Medical Assistance eligible adults age 18 years of age and older with severe and persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders. This person will provide timely supports in helping the peer achieve their recovery goals. Special emphasis will be placed on partnering with mental health peers to find and maintain permanent housing in the community and in the achievement of vocational goals. Duties are conducted in accordance with all existing policies, procedures and regulations and in accord with the Mission and Values of the Company.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED). 1-year of documented volunteer or paid work experience within the last three (3) years, or post-secondary education credits, totaling at minimum 24 credit hours. Current or former recipient of mental health and or co-occurring services.
*Prefer someone who has already obtained the Peer Support Certification.
Employment Requirements:
Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods working on a computer in an open office environment, comfortable communicating through virtual technology, and travel throughout the assigned region may occur and may be in adverse weather conditions, must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
