Guiding Light Coaching Services LLC is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to provide peer-based recovery and wellness support to adults navigating substance use, co-occuring mental health, justice involvement, and life transitions.
The CRS will use their lived experience, recovery training, and peer support principles to walk alongside individuals in identifying goals, reducing barriers, building natural supports, and strengthening long-term wellness. Services are non-clinical, strengths-based, and rooted in hope, dignity, and self-determination.
This role is ideal for someone who values authentic connection, flexibility, and meaningful work that supports recovery in the community.

Responsibilities

*Provide individual peer support services in community and virtual settings
*Support individuals in identifying recovery goals and creating action steps
*Assist individuals with navigation of resources, referrals, and community connections
*Promote self-advocacy, empowerment, and personal choice in recovery
*Use recovery-oriented tools such as wellness planning, check-ins, and goal tracking
*Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency and funder requirements
*Communicate appropriately with supervisors and referring partners within consent guidelines
*Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and peer support boundaries
*Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

*Current Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) credential through the PA Certification Board
*Personal lived experience with recovery
*Ability to engage individuals with compassion, respect, and nonjudgment
*Strong communication and organizational skills
*Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
*Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

Preferred:
*Experience working in community-based or peer support settings
*Familiarity with local resources in Berks County
*Comfort working with diverse populations and complex life barriers
*Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
