Lenape Valley Foundation is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to join our Bright Path Center, where you will play a key role in supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises. Your lived experience, empathy, and recovery knowledge will help individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered as they begin or continue their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

As a Certified Recovery Specialist, you will use your lived experience to provide non-clinical, peer-based recovery support in a crisis environment. You will help individuals experiencing substance use and behavioral health challenges feel safe, respected, and empowered.

*Provide peer-based recovery support and coaching using lived experience
*Engage individuals during substance use or behavioral health crises with empathy and encouragement
*Support individuals in all stages of recovery, including engagement, initiation, stabilization, and maintenance
*Assist individuals in recognizing relapse warning signs and developing coping strategies
*Connect individuals to treatment, MAT providers, peer supports, housing, and community resources
*Advocate for individuals’ needs, preferences, and recovery goals within the care team
*Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
*Provide or support peer-led recovery groups and engagement activities
*Transport individuals to appointments and recovery services as appropriate
*Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
*Promote a trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented environment

Qualifications

Required

*Active PA Peer Recovery Specialist Certification or willingness to obtain within required timeframe
*Self-identify as an individual in recovery from a substance abuse disorder
*High School diploma or GED
*Minimum of 1 year in stable recovery, 3 years preferred
*Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and willingness to drive throughout Bucks County
*Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Teams)
*Physical ability to meet job requirements (with or without accommodation)

Preferred

*Experience in substance abuse treatment, crisis services, or recovery-oriented settings
*Experience supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse conditions
*Knowledge of Bucks County recovery and treatment resources
*Familiarity with motivational interviewing, WRAP, and recovery-oriented practices
*Experience documenting in electronic health records
