Heart for Change Counseling Services is seeking a clinician with experience in substance use treatment who is excited about helping grow a specialized service line within our practice. This position will initially focus on providing alcohol and drug education and treatment services, particularly for individuals referred through Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) recommendations, with the opportunity to expand into a full-time role as the program grows.

Position Overview
This clinician will provide education and treatment services for individuals experiencing substance use concerns, with a primary focus on clients completing treatment recommendations following DOT SAP evaluations. The ideal candidate is passionate about recovery-oriented care and enjoys working collaboratively to create innovative services.

Schedule
● Initial schedule of less than 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

● Provide individual outpatient counseling for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns.
● Deliver alcohol and drug education and treatment services consistent with DOT SAP recommendations.
● Implement treatment recommendations developed by DOT Substance Abuse Professionals.
● Complete treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required clinical documentation in a timely manner.
● Collaborate with referring SAP professionals, employers (when appropriate and authorized), and other healthcare providers to support continuity of care.
● Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.
● Participate in team consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
● Assist in developing and expanding Heart for Change's substance use treatment services.
● Build relationships within the community to support program growth and referral development.
● Maintain ethical and professional standards consistent with licensing requirements.

Qualifications

● Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
● Active Pennsylvania licensure (or license-eligible) preferred.
● Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.
● Experience providing treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns.
● Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and the Stages of Change model.
● Experience with or willingness to learn DOT SAP treatment recommendations and return-to-duty processes.
● CADC, CAADC, or other addiction credentials are preferred but not required.
