Position Overview:
JFK's Outpatient Therapists provide direct clinical care to clients managing emotional & psychological challenges associated with mental illness, substance use and addiction. In an adult- outpatient, medically-assisted treatment or walk-in setting, our therapists serve the local community.
• Providing clinical diagnostic and counseling therapy for individuals, groups & family/couples; and Drug and Alcohol assessments/intakes
• Incorporating evidence-based treatment services to prevent and reduce self-destructive behaviors (I.e.- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, motivational interviewing, etc.)
• Using a collaborative approach to treatment planning, exchanging resources & ideas to promote strength, recovery & resilience.
• Identifying social, economic, and health programs & resources appropriate to support community integration.
Training & Experience:
• Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling or related discipline from an accredited university.
• At least one year of clinical experience (a two-semester internship is acceptable) working with adults performing therapy, preferably in a drug and alcohol treatment setting.
