We are an established Pittsburgh-area real estate ownership group preparing to launch a professionally operated sober living/recovery housing program.
We are looking for an experienced Recovery House Manager, Recovery Housing Director, Certified Recovery Specialist, or sober-living professional who would like the opportunity to help build the operation from the ground up.
This is not intended to be a traditional single-house manager position. We are initially launching our first recovery home with plans to expand to approximately 4–5 single-family recovery homes in the Pittsburgh area.
For the right person, we are open to creating a compensation structure that includes base compensation, potential housing, performance incentives, and profit participation as the operation grows.
What We're Looking For
We would especially like to speak with someone who has experience with:
Sober living or recovery-house operations
Pennsylvania DDAP recovery-house requirements
PARR/NARR standards
Resident intake and orientation
House rules, accountability and conflict resolution
Drug/alcohol testing procedures
Recovery resources and community relationships
Resident documentation and recordkeeping
House meetings and resident supervision
Training or supervising house managers, resident leads or peer staff
Pennsylvania Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS), Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), or similar recovery credentials are desirable but not required for an experienced candidate.
The Opportunity
The initial role would involve helping us establish and operate our first recovery residence, including assisting with operating procedures, resident management, compliance systems and day-to-day operations.
As additional homes open, the position could grow into an Area Recovery Housing Manager / Director-level role overseeing multiple nearby homes and resident leads.
We already own and operate a substantial portfolio of residential properties in the Pittsburgh area and have the ability to provide additional properties as the recovery-housing program successfully expands.
Our goal is to build a well-run, compliant and financially sustainable recovery-housing organization, rather than simply operate one sober house.
Compensation
We are flexible because we are interested in finding the right person.
Depending upon experience and the structure of the position, compensation may include:
Competitive base compensation
Free or subsidized private housing, if desired
Performance-based bonuses
Potential participation in the operating profits of the recovery-housing business as the portfolio grows
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced recovery-housing professionals who are excited about helping build an organization and would prefer long-term financial upside rather than simply working an hourly house-manager position.
Profit participation would be based on the performance of the recovery-housing operation and would not be based on individual resident referrals.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal person is dependable, organized and compassionate while also maintaining strong boundaries and accountability.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands recovery housing and can help us answer the practical questions involved in building a successful operation:
What works? What doesn't? How should the houses be staffed? How do we maintain accountability? How do we build strong referral relationships? And how do we create an operation that can successfully scale from one house to several?
If you've managed recovery housing before and have thought, “I could help build and run something better,” we'd like to talk with you.
Please send your resume along with a short note describing your experience with recovery housing, sober living, behavioral health, peer recovery, or residential programs.
