Position Overview: JFK manages a semi-independent residential site for nine individuals with mental illness in the Germantown section of the city. Our Supported Living Specialist support residents by:
* Providing a full range of supportive care necessary to meet the resident's clinical, social, health and economic needs
* Counseling residents on all Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and nurturing ongoing independence to sustain ADL's
* Fostering an atmosphere that maintains the highest levels of essential life supports
* Assisting when emergency services and crisis intervention is needed
Our Supported Living Specialist should:
* Desire to embrace the philosophy and objectives of JFK Behavioral Health
* Exercise good judgement to ensure respect and fairness are the foundation of resident interactions
* Be a flexible creative problem-solver that can adapt to evolving resident needs
* Engage with peer supportive living specialist to provide consistency in resident supports and smooth shift transitions
* Be comfortable navigating the city by vehicle or public transit to escort residents
Training & Experience:
* High School Diploma or equivalent and post-high school experience working with adults who have diminished mental capacity -or- specialized training, certification, or study in human or social services
* Schedule: Open shifts: Friday:8am-4pm, Saturday: 8am-4pm, Saturday: 4pm-12am, Sunday: 8am-4pm and Tuesday: 12am-8am
