CMSU is a county-funded recovery oriented agency that has an opportunity for a Certified Peer Specialist to share in its vision “To create an environment where hope leads to recovery and recovery leads to hope.”
Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) play an important role in fulfilling CMSU’s mission “To participate actively in a community-wide partnership to support residents of Columbia, Montour, Snyder, and Union Counties in achieving independence and personal development in order to enhance their quality of life.”
CMSU has a full time opportunity for a Certified Peer Specialist to work in its Connect to Empower (C2E) Program team in Danville PA. The C2E program is a Coordinated Specialty Care program that serves youth age 14-18, young-adults and adults up to 30 years of age who are experiencing a first episode psychosis (FEP).

Responsibilities

The CPS will demonstrate an understanding of the recovery model and serve as a role model for people with serious mental illness to assist them with their recovery. Have the ability to establish a trusting relationship with peers.
Basic computer skills or ability to learn how to complete electronic documentation
Attend weekly C2E team meetings
CPS will work in conjunction with other C2E team members to assist people with first episode psychosis to build social and personal skills that will enhance their recovery

Qualifications

Gradaute of 10 day OMHSAS approved CPS training.
Completion of PA Certification Board test with passing score after CPS training within 6 months from date of hire or hold a current PCB CPS Credential.
Passing score eligibility on civil service list for social services aide 1 after requisition is posted
Completion of Child Abuse & Criminal History clearances.
Valid driver’s license or willing to obtain a driver’s license.
A reliable method of transportation to and from the work place as scheduled is essential.
Basic computer skills or ability to learn how to complete electronic documentation
