We offer outstanding choices to individuals suffering with behavioral health difficulties who present in primary care (the majority of the populations) as we enhance healthcare for those in treatment for mental health and/or drug and alcohol services. The co-location of primary care services along with behavioral health treatment offers significant advantages to the community. * To be familiar with and to utilize the record keeping system.
* To be responsible for assessing clients needs on his/her caseload.
* To provide direct treatment (individual, group, couples, and family counseling).
* To keep the program Director and Medical Director up-to-date on all cases.
* To attend in-service training for treatment staff.
* To protect and respect clients' rights to confidentiality.
* To maintain contact with referral sources.
* To implement behavior and modification programs.
* To attend those meetings (e.g. staff meetings, etc.) deemed appropriate by supervisor.
* To be familiar with and utilize billing procedures.
* To maintain case record of each assigned client according to regulatory body standards and agency guidelines and procedures.
* To provide monthly activity reports.
* A Counselor must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a social science are (e.g. psychology, counseling, or addictions studies).
* A Bachelor's level counselor must have a minimum of one year experience in the field of substance abuse and one year experience in the field of mental health.
* A Counselor must be knowledgeable and trained in basic counseling skills (individual, group, couples, and family), substance-related, mental health and co-occurring disorders, their related problem and evidenced-based treatment strategies.
* A Counselor must have completed the core D&A trainings mandated by DDAP/DOH or complete the trainings one year from date to hire.
* A Counselor must have completed the core COD trainings mandated by OMSHA 06-03 or completed the trainings one year from date to hire.
