Colonial House, Inc. is looking for an Inpatient Counselor to join its growing team! Colonial House, Inc. is a 45 bed all male 3.5 residential facility with a flexible length of stay between 30 and 90 days. Colonial House, Inc. utilizes evidenced based practices and curriculum, including motivational enhancement therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and a trauma informed care approach. Treatment includes a daily structured schedule intended to heal the person with substance use disorder in mind, body, and spirit.
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8 AM- 4 PM
Rotating Holiday schedule
Weekends, as scheduled in advance
FT, Salary, exempt position with benefits after 30 days of employment
90 day orientation/probationary period

The Inpatient Counselor is responsible for all aspects of the clinical care and treatment process, beginning with biopsychosocial assessment and problem identification, to treatment planning and conducting individual and group sessions. Collateral contacts and collaboration with referring agencies, legal entities, care managers, and the family are an integral component of the Counselor's work. Documentation utilizing EMR is essential. The Counselor is responsible for conducting psychoeducational lectures on different topics related to the recovery of the individual. Strong knowledge of stages of change and familiarity with SCA and Medicaid funding, including utilization review, is required.
Master's Degree with a major in the human service field
Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of drug and alcohol experience
Associate's degree with 2 years of drug and alcohol experience
Certification as an addictions counselor is preferred
