MARS is the largest outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility in the Lehigh Valley, and our agency is growing! Seeking multiple qualified candidates for afternoon/evening fee-for-service positions at MARS' outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility to provide addictions counseling. We are looking to fill the following roles:
Afternoon/Evening fee-for-service individual counselor; Our fee-for-service counselors provide services; in-person or a blend of in-person/telehealth. The ideal candidate would be able to provide services in-person. This candidate could also have the option to facilitate groups.
The optimal candidates understand the importance of and demonstrate timely documentation and quality and ethical care of our clients. Considered candidates have to ability to utilize various HIPAA compliant telehealth platforms. We are proud of the work, treatment, and care we provide our clients and are looking for candidates who will fit in with our culture at MARS to provide exceptional care and attention to our clients, our agency, and to our community.
-Performs individual and/or group counseling. Option to perform family and couples counseling.
-Documents client progress and clinical notes via MARS' electronic health record.-Develops collaborative treatment plans with clients and enters updates in a timely manner.-Works with treatment team to determine client progress and makes recommendations and referrals when appropriate.-Develops aftercare plans for all clients.-Determines appropriate length of stay for clients based on ASAM criteria.
-Completes discharge summaries and closes records timely.-Communicates with Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance and engagement in treatment.
Master’s Degree (or higher) from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling or other related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling or other related field and 1 year of direct clinical care or 6 months drug and alcohol experience.
- Knowledge of addiction, gathering and interpreting information about substance use and dependence, the biopsychosocialspiritual influences and effects of dependencies, understanding of level of care placement criteria, treatment methods and their appropriate use and implementation.
