Responsibilities

As a Methadone Counselor at NET, you will provide assessment and training services, maintain an active caseload of clients, and cultivate client clinical charts in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health standards, as well as other city, county, federal, and CARF standards. Working hours are based on program and client needs, and may vary and change accordingly. Employee must be able to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, and to schedule hours consistent with program needs.

Qualifications

Applicants MUST meet the requirements of one of the following bullet points:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialty in human services) or other related field plus 3 years of clinical experience in a health or human services agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent and/or dually diagnosed clients.

OR

A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialty in the human services) or related field plus 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent and/or dually diagnosed clients.

Additional Qualifications:
• Must have experience with drug/alcohol addiction and group counseling. Preference given to candidates with methadone experience.
• Must have strong communication, reading, and writing skills.
