Part time position in a small, private non-profit agency for outpatient substance abuse services. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, some possible evening hours as well. Approximately 28 hours per week. Could lead to a full time position with excellent benefit package. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducting screenings for determination of emergency medical needs
• Conducting substance abuse evaluations to determine the presence or absence of a substance abuse problem, and determination of level of care
• Providing direct clinical and/or supportive chemical dependency services to individual clients, members of their families, and/or significant others, to aid them in achieving a more satisfactory adjustment to their specific problems or situations.
• Designing treatment plans by utilizing knowledge of alcohol and drug dependency, counseling, and treatment methods, tailoring approach to individual needs.
• Working in close cooperation with other social service agencies, hospitals, clinics, courts, and community resources in planning to meet the needs of clients, and assists them in utilizing their resources.
• Preparing dictation and record keeping as required by specific agency programs, on a timely basis as directed by the supervisor.
• Adhering to established regulations, policies and procedures of the overall agency and their specific component.
• Attending seminars, conferences and training to enhance skills and performance as directed by the supervisor.
• Performing in an advisory capacity to other professional staff in specialized areas through participation in conferences and meetings for purpose of diagnosis and plan of treatment.

Qualifications

Master's Degree preferred, or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in Chemical Dependency, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field.
All candidates must pass PA Criminal Background and Child Abuse Clearances.
