This position provides substance use disorder counseling under the direct supervision of a certified addiction counselor at in Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute’s new Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), The AIR Program. Treatment interventions, modalities and functions will include the following: Psychosocial assessments, level of care assessments, supportive short-term counseling, psychoeducation group therapy; supervised group psychotherapy, crisis counseling, and appropriate internal/external referrals. All work is completed under the supervision of a certified addiction counselor.
• A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent with two (2) years of experience in a related human service field or a Bachelor's Degree in a related human service field is required.
• Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientation, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status.
• If in recovery from a substance use disorder must be in recovery for a minimum of 2 years.
• Basic computer skills required.
